About this event

The 2020 MFE Berkowitz Lecture, Inequality, Credit and Indebted Demand: The Economic Challenges of the 21st Century, will be delivered by Professor Atif Mian, the John H. Laporte, Jr. Class of 1967 Professor of Economics, Public Policy and Finance, and Director of the Julis-Rabinowitz Center for Public Policy and Finance at the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University.

Professor Mian holds a bachelors degree in Mathematics with Computer Science and Ph.D. in Economics from MIT. Prior to joining Princeton in 2012 he taught at the University of California, Berkeley and the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Professor Mian's work studies the connections between finance and the macro economy, and has been published in various academic journals. He is also the author of the critically acclaimed book, House of Debt, with Amir Sufi.

The Berkowitz Lecture Series is presented by the Master of Financial Economics (MFE) Program in memory of Michael Berkowitz (1946 - 2004), former Department of Economics Chair and founder of the Master of Financial Economics program.
